When to book your newborn photo session? 

The best time to photograph a newborn baby is when they are under two weeks of age. Ideally from 5 to 14 days old. After two weeks babies are a little harder to settle and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up.

It is best that you contact me during your pregnancy and give me an estimated due date to schedule your tentative booking. After you arrive home from hospital with your brand new baby you can contact me to arrange a suitable day and time for your photo session.

However, I do understand that not every birth goes as planned and some babies may have a more adventurous start to life than others. I am one of the very few photographers in Queensland that loves a challenge and will happily work with a baby up to 6 weeks of age. So if this sounds like you, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We encourage you to get in touch with us around 12-14 weeks into your pregnancy to ensure you don't miss out!!

How do I book a photo session?

You can book your photo session via the phone, email or in person during your Pre-Session Consultation. To have your date secured you need to process the session fee that serves as a booking fee as well. Please check our Investment Page for session fee guide.Please note that session fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY DIGITAL IMAGES OR PRODUCTS.  Digital images, products and prints are purchased separately.

What does my session fee cover?

Your session fee covers the Booking Fee, Design Consultation, Photo Session, Reveal/Ordering Appointment and Delivery Appointment. 

Access to all Props including beds, buckets, baskets, bowls, outfits and accessories for your baby.

Client wardrobe including a selection of internationally designed Maternity gowns.

Extensive styling guidance.

Where is the session held?

Your newborn photo session will take place in my home studio located in Springfield Lakes, Ipswich, Queensland. Please keep in mind that for safety reasons only a newborn baby / babies and parents are allowed in my studio (maximum 2 adults). Siblings are welcome to attend for Newborn & Family sessions only if they are being photographed on the day.

Most cake smash sessions take place in studio unless otherwise requested. We have such a large range of cake smash props, and if we don't have something we get busy creating!

Maternity and Family session can be held in studio or out on location. We love creating classical heirloom style images in studio; whereas lifestyle sessions look stunning when captured in natural environments whether it be outdoors during golden hour or inside your family home.

How long will the session take?

Normally a newborn photo session lasts a maximum of 4 hours. I allow plenty of time for feeding and comforting your baby.

Our maternity and family sessions last approximately 2 hours, including stopping for breaks and snacks. We have so much fun especially when children are involved!

Children's Milestone sessions run for 1.5 hours max. This includes time for feeds, and nappy changes.

We never rush through our sessions so it is always advised NOT to book any other appointments before and after your session.

Will I have any guidance on what to do before the photo session so it runs smoothly?

Absolutely! Shortly after booking a photo session with me you will receive a Session Guide that I am more than happy to walk you through and answer any questions you might have. Before the session you will know exactly what you can do on your part to make sure that your baby’s first photo session runs smoothly and stress free for both of you. And remember I am here to answer any questions and help you with whatever you might need to create a beautiful stress-free experience for you. I will walk you through the whole process and I will gladly help you to feed, change and soothe the baby during the photo session. I know you will probably be sleep deprived after sleepless nights so you can just relax back on my comfortable couch and just watch me do my magic. My goal is not only to create a tangible art for your home. My goal is also that you as a mom are relaxed and happy throughout the whole process.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, I have plenty of props, wraps and outfits for you to choose from. We will discuss them beforehand so it’s all ready to go on your Photo Session day.

When can I see my images and order my products?

At the end of the photo session we will schedule the time and date for your Gallery Reveal/Ordering appointment. Normally it is scheduled within 2-3 weeks after your Session. On that day you’ll see your images and will be able to choose your products. Once full payment is received your prints will be ordered. They can take up to 3-4 weeks for delivery. As soon as they arrive to my studio you will be notified of that and we’ll coordinate a pick up date.
