AWARDS AND PUBLICATIONS
1st Place – Newborn Category, Legacy Photography Awards (May 2025)
This award-winning image holds a special place in my heart. Captured during a tender newborn session, it tells a story of love, protection, and the unbreakable bond between siblings. The serene embrace of the older sisters, their eyes closed in peaceful unity, surrounds their newest family member in a cocoon of warmth and safety.
Every detail — from the delicate blue tones of their dresses to the gentle wrap around the newborn — was chosen to evoke a feeling of calm and timeless beauty. While the session was full of giggles, soft whispers, and those fleeting newborn moments, the final image reflects the stillness and purity of a family’s love frozen in time.
Winning 1st place in the Legacy Photography Awards is a tremendous honour, but even more meaningful is knowing this photograph will be treasured by this family for generations. It’s a reminder of why I do what I do — to create art that preserves life’s most meaningful moments with authenticity and heart.
2nd Place – Outdoor Child Portrait Category, Legacy Photography Awards (March 2025)
This striking outdoor portrait captures the magic of childhood imagination in its purest form. Taken in a small grassy area just minutes from our studio — a spot you’d never expect to look so enchanting — the image came to life through the reach of our Canon 70-200mm lens. Working with a tight frame and beautiful bokeh, the setting was transformed into a scene that feels like it belongs in a fairytale.
The young girl in this portrait is non-verbal and autistic, unable to communicate with me in the traditional sense and not inclined to follow direction. Instead of guiding her through poses, the approach was to simply let her be in her element, observing her natural movements and expressions. The result is a moment that is authentic, unforced, and truly her.
The deep greens and vibrant florals frame her like a natural stage, her Snow White-inspired gown and fiery red hair glowing in the light. Earning 2nd place in the Outdoor Child Portrait category is an honour, and the greatest joy comes from knowing this image reflects her unique spirit exactly as she is.
2nd Place – Maternity Category, Legacy Photography Awards (July 2025)
This portrait is a striking celebration of motherhood, strength, and elegance. Captured in our Springfield Lakes studio, it showcases a radiant mother embracing her young daughter — a tender connection wrapped in flowing teal fabric that symbolises grace and continuity between generations.
The composition draws the viewer’s eye to the strength in the mother’s gaze and the serenity in her child’s expression, creating a powerful balance between poise and intimacy. The styling, with its rich colour palette and fluid movement, was chosen to evoke timeless beauty while keeping the bond between mother and child at the heart of the image.
Winning 2nd place in the Maternity Category is an honour, but the true achievement is creating an image that will forever be a visual heirloom, preserving a moment where love, anticipation, and legacy meet.
2nd Place – Newborn Category, Legacy Photography Awards (July 2025)
This image will always hold a special place in my heart. Born around Easter time, this sweet boy’s session was the perfect opportunity to create a whimsical Peter Rabbit-inspired set. Nestled under a soft white blanket, wearing bunny ears and surrounded by hand-knitted carrots, he slept so peacefully beside his plush rabbit friend.
The outfit made it even more special — from the romper to the iconic dainty blue cardigan, each piece was lovingly handmade by Dalia Photo Props, a small husband-and-wife team based in Poland, known for creating exquisite, heirloom-quality newborn outfits.
But the most important detail in this portrait is something far more personal. His parents wanted to celebrate his extra little thumb — a unique and beautiful part of who he is — and ensure it was captured with love. Positioning it purposefully in the frame felt like the heart of the story.
Placing 2nd in the Newborn Category is such an honour, but for me, the greatest reward is knowing this photograph will forever hold a piece of his story, one stitched together with joy, love, and the tiniest, most meaningful details.

Excellence Distinction – Studio Child Portrait Category, Legacy Photography Awards (May 2025)
This portrait is a playful nod to childhood imagination and timeless style. Captured in our Springfield Lakes studio, the image blends classic portraiture with a touch of fun — a confident little cowboy perched on his trusty rocking horse, ready to take on the world.
From the denim-on-denim outfit to the warm studio tones, every element was chosen to give the photograph a rich, vintage feel that will never go out of style. The pose may look effortless, but it’s the child’s natural curiosity and charm that truly bring the portrait to life.
Receiving the Excellence Distinction in the Studio Child Portrait category is a true honour, but the real reward is knowing this image will become part of this family’s treasured history. It’s a reminder of how fleeting these early years are — and how powerful it is to preserve them in portraits that feel both personal and timeless.
Excellence Distinction – Maternity Category, Legacy Photography Awards (March 2025)
This portrait celebrates the quiet strength, beauty, and anticipation of motherhood. Captured in the simplicity of our studio setting, it focuses entirely on the mother-to-be — her form, her expression, and the deep connection she already shares with the little life she carries.
The minimalist styling and soft, even lighting were chosen to honour the natural elegance of pregnancy, allowing the viewer to focus on the emotion and presence of the moment. It’s a timeless image that speaks to the power and grace of women during this extraordinary stage of life.
Receiving the Excellence Distinction in the Maternity Category is a true honour, but the greatest reward is knowing this image will forever mark a moment in time when life was about to change in the most beautiful way.
Excellence Distinction – Newborn Category, Legacy Photography Awards (March 2025)
TThis vibrant newborn portrait is a celebration of life, colour, and the delicate beauty of those first days. Set against a rich mustard backdrop and accented with bold magenta and soft florals, the styling was designed to evoke joy and warmth while framing the newborn in a cocoon of comfort.
The pose captures the baby’s peaceful stillness, with tiny hands gently resting and features perfectly relaxed — a fleeting moment that new parents cherish. Every element, from the handcrafted basket to the carefully chosen textures, was thoughtfully selected to create a timeless piece of art that feels both modern and classic.
Earning the Excellence Distinction in the Newborn Category is a wonderful honour, but the true reward is knowing this image will forever be a reminder of the pure innocence and beauty of a brand-new life.
Excellence Distinction – Studio Child Portrait Category, Legacy Photography Awards (July 2025)
This cheeky and heartwarming portrait captures the pure joy and curiosity of childhood. Taken during a cake smash session, it freezes the moment this little one paused mid-bite, frosting still on his fingers and face, with eyes wide in innocent mischief.
The soft background tones and gentle lighting draw attention to his expressive gaze, while the playful splash of green frosting adds a burst of personality and fun. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most memorable photographs are the ones that capture life’s unscripted moments.
Receiving the Excellence Distinction in the Studio Child Portrait category is a privilege, and the greatest joy comes from knowing this image will forever bring smiles to his family, preserving the delight of this milestone moment.
2nd Place – Newborn Category, Legacy Photography Awards (January 2025)
This portrait was taken during a newborn session in our Springfield Lakes studio and is one of my personal favourites. The baby’s direct gaze into the camera feels captivating — as though he’s already studying and making sense of the world around him. His expression holds a quiet confidence and curiosity that is remarkable at such a tender age.
I love creating simple, monotone sets that allow the subject to shine without distractions, and this image is a perfect example of that approach. The soft, natural wool fabric beneath the baby adds warmth and texture, while the knitted beige wool wrap complements the tones beautifully. Together, they create a timeless, uncluttered backdrop that highlights every delicate detail.
Earning 2nd place in the Newborn Category is a wonderful honour, and the greatest joy comes from knowing this image preserves not only his tiny features but also that first spark of curiosity about the world.
AFNS Theme Winner 2024
This session marked a truly special milestone — her 10th birthday. A chapter where childhood innocence gently begins to meet the first glimmers of young womanhood. We chose to photograph her in a parkland in Ipswich, QLD, during jacaranda season, when the streets turn into rivers of purple and the air is filled with the soft fall of blossoms.
Her pink tulle gown spilled out in layers, dancing with her every twirl. Using my Canon 70–200mm lens, I was able to frame her against a backdrop of dreamy bokeh, letting the jacarandas melt into a haze of colour while every detail of her expression remained beautifully crisp.
What moves me most is how this image captures that delicate in-between — still full of carefree joy, yet carrying the quiet grace of the young woman she’s becoming.
To see this image named AFNS Theme Winner 2024 is an honour, not just for the recognition, but for the way it preserves a fleeting moment of transformation, framed in the colours of a Queensland spring.
19th Place – Newborn Category, Asia Pacific Photography Awards 2025 Top 20 Finalist & Highly Commended
This tender family portrait, taken in our Springfield Lakes studio, beautifully captures the shared journey of new parenthood. I personally love the curious look the baby is giving the viewer — it feels as though she’s already beginning to explore and take in the world around her.
New parents often say, “babies don’t come with a manual”, but the truth is, neither do parents. Parenthood is a journey that all three embark on together, learning, adapting, and growing with every new day. The neutral tones and simple styling in this portrait allow that story — the love, the wonder, and the shared beginning — to shine through without distraction.
Earning 19th place in the Newborn Category among talented photographers from across the Asia Pacific region is an honour, with the greatest joy coming from knowing this image will forever reflect the start of their family’s adventure.
8th Place, Child Category, Asia Pacific Photography Awards 2025
This portrait is deeply symbolic and incredibly close to my heart. Featuring the same autistic girl from my outdoor award-winning image, this concept was designed with intention in every element. The puzzle motif in the background pays homage to the puzzle symbol often associated with autism, representing the complexity, uniqueness, and beauty of neurodiversity.
In her hands is The Little Red Hen — a story about determination, perseverance, and never giving up — values that resonate powerfully with her journey. The teal dress was chosen with care, not only for its rich, striking contrast against the warm backdrop, but also because blue is a colour often associated with autism awareness. A subtle nod to Albert Einstein — famously believed to be autistic — adds yet another layer of meaning to the composition.
Although she is non-verbal, her imagination, ability to read, and love for stories are limitless. This image is a reminder that communication takes many forms, and brilliance is not confined by spoken words.
I feel truly honoured that this portrait scored so highly in the Asia Pacific Photography Awards, achieving 8th place in the Child Category, along with Top 20 Finalist and Silver Award recognition. Even though some of the judges were not able to fully decipher the strong and layered message behind this piece in the final and most challenging rounds of scoring, I am incredibly proud of myself for creating an image that carries such meaning and purpose.
Excellence Distinction, Maternity Category, Legacy Photography Awards January 2025
This portrait speaks of strength, heritage, and the incredible power of womanhood. The vibrant beaded neckpiece, rich with colour and cultural significance, was chosen to honour the mother’s African roots, symbolising pride, resilience, and the passing of tradition to the next generation.
Her stance — strong, tall, and unapologetically confident — reflects the quiet yet unshakable power of motherhood. The sheer black fabric flowing behind her represents both vulnerability and grace, while framing her form in a way that celebrates the beauty of pregnancy without distraction.
Every element in this image was intentional. I wanted to create something that felt like more than just a maternity portrait — a visual celebration of life, identity, and the journey of carrying a child. Her gaze, lifted and unwavering, carries both hope for the future and an awareness of the responsibility that comes with bringing a new soul into the world.
Receiving an Excellence Distinction for this image is a true honour, but the real reward is knowing that this photograph captures more than a moment in time — it preserves a legacy of strength, beauty, and culture for generations to come.
2nd Place, Newborn Category, Legacy Photography Awards November 2024
This image was created during one of my festive newborn sessions — a time of year that always fills the studio with joy, laughter, and a little extra magic. The set was designed to feel like a cosy holiday scene straight out of a storybook: a vintage red armchair, a delicate Christmas wreath, and our tiniest ‘Santa’ taking a well-earned nap after a busy ‘day at the workshop’.
The newborn’s relaxed pose, tiny bare feet peeking out, and the whimsical touch of milk-and-cookies in hand bring together the innocence and charm of a baby’s first Christmas. Dressing him in a classic Santa suit, complete with hat and glasses, gave the image a timeless quality — one that will make his family smile for decades to come.
Winning 2nd Place in the Legacy Photography Awards for this image is an honour, but beyond the award, it’s the feeling it evokes that makes it so special to me. It’s a reminder of how photography can pause a fleeting moment and wrap it in warmth, joy, and nostalgia, ready to be cherished every holiday season.
2nd Place, Maternity Category, Legacy Photography Awards November 2024
This image is a powerful celebration of motherhood in its raw, unapologetic form. The mother, adorned in a cascade of satin gold, sits with a quiet yet unshakable confidence, holding her child close. Her tattoos tell a story of individuality and resilience — a visual reminder that motherhood does not erase identity; it deepens it.
The connection between mother and child in this frame is almost tangible — the way his small hands clutch at her, the way her arm naturally curves protectively around him. It’s a moment that speaks to the essence of nurturing: safety, warmth, and an unspoken understanding that she is his entire world.
The choice of gold silk was intentional — symbolising the richness of their bond, the value of these fleeting years, and the regal strength of a mother’s love.
This image holds an especially deep meaning for me, as it instantly took me back to my own breastfeeding journey with my children — who are now no longer so little. It’s a tender reminder that those moments, though they feel endless at the time, pass all too quickly, leaving behind a bittersweet ache and a lifetime of memories.
Placing 2nd in the Legacy Photography Awards is an honour, but more than that, it feels like a personal triumph. It is proof that authentic storytelling in maternity photography — the kind that embraces both vulnerability and strength — will always resonate deeply
