Every baby arrives with their own story, their own personality and little details that make them completely unique. That's why I believe every newborn photography session should feel personal, reflecting not only your baby but also the journey that brought them into your lives.
When Cate contacted me to organise Elias' newborn photography session, she wanted to create something special for her partner, Mahshid, as they celebrated becoming parents for the very first time.
Together, we planned a session that would capture not only beautiful newborn portraits but also the meaningful little details that made Elias' story uniquely theirs.
The Most Meaningful Props Are Often the Ones You Already Have
One of my favourite parts of planning newborn sessions is discovering the sentimental items families choose to bring along.
For Elias' session, those special touches included a personalised name frame and a beautiful crocheted elephant lovingly made by Mum.
Rather than filling a gallery with lots of different props, incorporating just a few meaningful keepsakes creates photographs that carry even more emotional value.
Years from now, those handmade treasures may have been packed away, but these photographs will always remind Elias of the love and care that surrounded him from the very beginning.
