HOW TO PREPARE

Plan ahead of time and use google maps to determine how long it may take to arrive at the location. Also take into consideration any traffic that may affect travel time before your Back to school Mini Session.

Arrive on time – Your assistance with arriving on time is so important for a successful session.

Please try your best to arrive on time, and get in touch with us asap if you think you might be late to your session.

Images –back to school sessions run for 45 minutes maximum. Sometimes, they can be less than 45 minutes, don’t freak out, it’s less because you guys have been awesome and nailed it! I will ensure you get various images of your child and provide you with a full gallery to select from. There will be an option to purchase additional images.

There is no pressure on your children to perform at the session, natural shots are always best and I like to shoot in a fun, relaxed and easy manner so there is no pressure on them to be perfect or looking at the camera with big perfect smiles in every shot. If you are wanting a full session, then please contact me direct for further information.

It is critical you supervise your children to ensure they don’t damage any props on the day.

No mobiles –  During the session you are not permitted to take any pictures with your mobile phone while I am shooting. It is a quick session and this will distract children and make them look away. Do not stress, I will be providing you with professional images.  At the end of the session if we have time, you’re more than welcome to do a behind the scenes videos for social media.

WHAT TO WEAR

We offer a range of gorgeous outfits for children in early primary school. Sizes 4-6 for both boys and girls.

We encourage all children to come dressed as if they were going to school! Shoes, bag, hat, the works!

After your child is photographed in their school uniform, and if we have time, we can have some fun with our vintage style uniforms. Children love playing dress ups!

Outfit Changes- As it is a 45 minute session we don’t have time for big outfit changes. We have taken into consideration a maximum of two outfit changes during your session. (Uniform and One outfit from our client wardrobe)

Accessories – I encourage children to bring along their favourite soft toy (teddy, plush animal) and their favourite book. These items can make your photos even more special, because they belong to your child!

Hair- We recommend styling your child's hair prior to the session so that it does not eat in to your session time. Styling it the same way you would when they're going to school would be perfect!

Shoes- We recommend childrenn wear their school shoes. Flip/flops are not recommended. Please note shoes are not provided in our studio wardrobe due to hygiene reasons.

TOP TIPS

Arrive on time! This way you are not stressed and all relaxed.

Plan your children’s sleep / awake time for that day if your session is during there sleep time.

Feed your children before the session to ensure their full and happy. Arrive a little earlier and do this at the park if needed. Feel free to bring anything as bribery.

Clean your children’s faces (eyes, nose, mouth), it’s amazing what is always left behind. I have wipes in the studio for you to use too.

Fingernails, hair cleaned and cut. I will not be editing special requests such as fixing chipped nail polish or frizzy hair during Back to school Minis.

Remove all hair ties or kids watches before the shoot to ensure no marks are there. Again I cannot edit out hair ties or watches.

Parents don’t forget about yourselves!!  If you intend join in for photographs on the day, please do your hair and make up before the session. Pamper yourself, you are just as important!
